The Legacy Project, a Chicago non-profit that created the 25 foot tall pillars on the sidewalks of the Lakeview neighborhood, wanted mini versions of their pillars to use as table centerpieces for their fundraising gala. We started with very rough blueprints and created a 3D model. Next we iterated through prototypes to come up with a plan for how to assemble the pieces and streamline the production process. And finally, we printed, painted, and assembled 40 pillars, each 18" tall.

A local ski shop felt that a particular high end pair of ski boots was comfortable, but with room for improvement. Specifically, they wanted the heels to be a bit higher and firmer. So we set out to create a 3D model of the boot and insole. It was too tight of a space to fit a 3D scanner, so casts were created using plasticine. Next, the casts were scanned and used as references to create a 3D model of an insert that sandwiched between the boot and insole. The finished product resulted in a much more comfortable boot and can be produced on demand and at competitive costs.
