Does your back ache? So does mine! No wonder since stress is pretty much an everyday occurrence and you hold a lot of stress in your back. Here are some tips to relieve the tension so you can get your back, back to feeling good again:
-Manage the stress that is causing the hurt. Remember “s” to relieve stress: sleeping, stretching, socializing, shopping, seeing sports/shows & squeezing a stress ball.
-Buy a foam roller if you don’t already have one. It’s a tool that you can use to give your back a massage as often as you need to. It’s an affordable option & the roller lasts a long time.
-Get a monthly back massage with a professional massage therapist if it’s in your budget. If not, that’s what the foam roller is for.
-If you have a bed with adjustable settings, use them. You don’t have to stay locked into one setting forever. Adjust it and see if your back feels better when the mattress is firmer or softer.
-Experiment with different sleeping positions. You might prefer to sleep on your side or stomach which will take the pressure off of your back.
-Take a warm bath to loosen your muscles -including your back- to relieve stress.
-If you sit for long periods of time at work, get an ergonomically designed chair with good back support or get a lumbar cushion or seat cushion for back support. Get up and walk around every hour or two to relieve stress.
-If you stand for long periods at work, wear comfortable shoes & sit down as much as you can during breaks, lunch, etc. to give your back a rest.
There you have it. Tips for a better back. How does your back feel now? Good … I hope! Please come back soon!
