Your Stress is Your Baggage


Carrying around excess baggage is cumbersome. It weighs you down. Your heaviest baggage is stress. YOUR STRESS IS YOUR BAGGAGE is a chapter from my Body Passport book. Take a look:

Find a way to manage stress through relaxation:    

*Schedule some play time for yourself. Playing is a great way to relax; go play your way.    

*Relax by interacting with other people. BEYOND USING SOCIAL MEDIA, SEE SOMEONE FACE TO FACE & HAVE A LIVE CONVERSATION WITH THEM. THIS WAY YOU GET TO SEE THEIR EMOTIONS FIRSTHAND. Experience being with & enjoying the company of others in-person.    

*Meditate, Meditate, Meditate. It’s a way to clear your mind & calm your body & let stress go.

NO ONE IS IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO MAKE YOU ANGRY, SO DON’T LET THEM. You’ve got better things to do so go & do them. That’s anger management in a nutshell.

People are busy thinking about themselves, so don’t worry about what other people think of you. Don’t waste your time worrying. FOCUS YOUR TIME ON YOU. YOUR BUSINESS IS YOU.

DON’T BEAT YOURSELF UP WITH SELF-PUNISHMENT IF YOU COMMIT A CRIME OF STUPIDITY i.e. you knew better but you did it anyway. Just learn from it so it doesn’t happen again.

IF YOU TRY SOMETHING & DON’T SUCCEED, DON’T DWELL ON IT. MOVE ON. If people notice, it will only be for a brief moment. Attention spans have become very short due to advances in technology. By the time people do pay attention, you’ll already be on to something new.

HUMOR HELPS YOU GET THROUGH LIFE. IT HELPS YOU COPE WITH PRETTY MUCH ANYTHING. Use it as much as possible, since life can be really long. Like really, really long. Counter stress with humor. Vow not to be stressed out.

THE FEELING OF GRATITUDE OVERRIDES THE FEELING OF STRESS IN YOUR BODY. Minimize stress & remember to be grateful. Say “Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!”

LOOK BACK ON YOUR PAST WITH FOND MEMORIES & NOT WITH REGRETS. Let the past help you to feel good today & not stress you out over things you can’t change.
